Why we started CV Refresher (and not just another resume tool)

Most resume tools are dreamed up by people who've never actually gone through a stack of job applications. At CV Refresher, it's a bit different. Our tool was built by two people who sat on the other side of the table every day: an active HR Business Partner and a Manager, who saw exactly what was going wrong — because they had to evaluate it themselves.

Two recruiters, one recurring frustration

Every single day, resumes came in that all followed the same standard template: the format you copy straight from Indeed or any random job board. Fine for a quick start, less fine when ten thousand other candidates use the exact same template. The result? Strong candidates got rejected faster, not because they weren't qualified, but because their resume didn't show who they actually were. As a recruiter, you notice this yourself: you scan, you compare, and a resume that doesn't stand out simply gets passed over.
