About CV-Refresher

An outdated CV or a cover letter that's hard to write stops too many people from applying for the job they actually want. CV-Refresher was built to change that.

We believe everyone should be able to create a professional, attractive CV and a suitable cover letter within a few minutes, without complicated tools, expensive services or hours of formatting work. Upload what you already have or build it from scratch, choose a style that suits you, and get on with applying.

A job application involves more than just a CV. The cover letter writer reads the job advert and your CV side by side and writes a letter tailored to that one role, with four sliders that let you set the tone yourself, from formal to personal. And if you receive an offer, the salary negotiation tool works out where you stand: what's standard in your field and country, which arguments from your own CV are strongest, and which phrases you can use in the conversation.

Where it started

CV-Refresher grew out of real-world experience. The founders regularly find themselves on the other side of the table: as an HR business partner and as a manager, they review applicants' CVs all year round.

There, they kept seeing the same thing. Many CVs look alike. They're built using the standard formats from Indeed and other job sites, formats that have barely changed in years. And, to be honest, they noticed that such CVs were set aside more quickly. Not because the candidate wasn't suitable, but because the CV simply didn't show who that person was and what they had to offer.

There had to be a better way.

They also saw that language forms an unnecessary barrier for many job seekers. Someone who doesn't fully master the language sometimes starts out at a disadvantage that says nothing about their knowledge, experience or talent. That's why CV-Refresher is available in seven languages. Because wherever you're from, or wherever you're applying, your CV should show what you can do, and help you move forward.

And it doesn't stop there. Because even after a successful application, an important moment follows: the salary negotiation. A moment when many people, out of uncertainty, agree too quickly to the first offer. The salary negotiation tool helps you go into that conversation better prepared. You'll gain insight into what's standard for your role and market, where there may be room to negotiate, and which arguments you can back up convincingly yourself. No made-up figures, just real salary data and the information from the job advert.

From the moment you decide to apply to the moment you sign your contract: CV-Refresher is here to help you move forward stronger, more confident and better prepared.

Dare to take the step, we're here to help!

Good luck! The CV-Refresher Team

“It was nice that I could upload my old CV, so I didn't have to type in all the details again. The system took it over well. On top of that, I can adjust the layout completely to my own taste.”

“Handy tool if you don't really know where to start. My CV became clearer and the job vacancy analysis gave me some good insights. I also found the salary advice interesting. Sometimes I thought the texts were a bit too formal and I adjusted them myself a bit. But as a basis, this is really a nice tool.”

“The cover letter writer in particular surprised me. I'd always struggled to write a good letter myself. CV-Refresher used my experience and the job vacancy in a really logical way. In the end I was invited for an interview. The whole combination of CV, letter and salary advice makes it really complete.”

“I was applying for jobs again after a few years and didn't really know what my CV should look like these days. CV-Refresher gave me a clear starting point straight away. The combination with the job posting analysis works well. My CV became much more specific and I ended up getting invited for an interview. Very positive about the whole experience.”

“CV-Refresher helped me present my work experience much better. Some of the phrasing wasn't quite my own style, so I adjusted that. But content-wise the suggestions were strong. I especially found the analysis of my salary position valuable. I would definitely use the tool again for a future job application.”

“Really handy when you want to apply for a specific job. What I liked most was that the tool didn't just churn out a standard cover letter, but actually looked at my CV and the job listing. That made the letter feel much more personal. The salary report also gave me more confidence during the interview.”

“I've recently moved to the Netherlands and wanted to adapt my Polish CV for Dutch employers. CV-Refresher was particularly helpful with the structure and highlighting my relevant experience. The cover letter was also a good starting point. I still had to check some Dutch phrasing, but it saved me a lot of time.”

“My CV hadn't been updated in a while. CV-Refresher turned it into a much stronger and more modern CV in a short amount of time. I especially liked the link with the job advert. Because of that, the cover letter really matched the role. I also liked that I could set the tone myself with four sliders, for example more formal or a bit more relaxed and warm. Because of that, the final letter really felt like my own story.”
