- What is an ATS, and do your CVs work with it?
- An ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is software that reads and sorts applications automatically. Most large employers use one, and in the United States it is the first step almost everywhere. It reads text, not layout — so columns, sidebars and a name tucked inside a coloured banner throw it off. That is why we tested our own templates: we generate a PDF and read it back the way an ATS would. The ones that come through cleanly, thirteen out of thirty, carry the ATS-friendly label, and you can filter on it when picking a template.
- Is there a subscription?
- No. You pay once for what you order. There is no recurring payment and no automatic renewal — that is written into our terms, so we cannot quietly go back on it.
- Do I need an account?
- No. There is no registration and no password. After ordering you get a personal link that takes you to your credits.
- Can I see my CV or cover letter before I pay?
- Yes, with the CV tool and the cover letter you see the complete, formatted result for free on your screen and can edit it directly. You only pay to download it. The salary negotiation tool works differently: there we generate the advice right after payment, because producing the advice itself is the paid service — there's no separate download step.
- How do I get back to my credit later?
- Through the link in your order email. That link and your credits are valid for 90 days. You get a reminder when seven days remain. After that the credit expires, and nothing is renewed or charged automatically.
- What if I lost the email?
- Enter your email address on the Retrieve your order page and we resend the link. If that fails, email support@cv-refresher.com.
- What if the result is wrong?
- The tool rewrites what you supply and invents nothing, but automatically generated text can contain errors — so always check the dates and employers yourself. If the output demonstrably does not match your upload, we refund or reprocess.
- What happens to my CV data?
- Your upload is deleted as soon as your document is ready, and what you type into the tool stays in your browser session. We keep no copy and do not use your data to train models.
