Right of withdrawal

The general rule: fourteen days to change your mind

As a consumer buying at a distance, you normally have fourteen days to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason.

For digital products that period starts on the day the contract is concluded.

The exception for digital files delivered immediately

For digital content not supplied on a physical medium, the right of withdrawal lapses once three conditions are met:

• you have given express consent for delivery to begin immediately,
• you have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal,
• and delivery has actually started.

This follows from article 6:230p(d) of the Dutch Civil Code, implementing article 16(1)(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU.

How we ask for it

At checkout you tick a box yourself. It is not pre-ticked, and it is separate from accepting the terms and conditions — a single combined tick for both is not permitted.

The text you tick reads:

• "I want CV-Refresher to start delivery of the ordered products immediately after payment. I understand that I lose my right of withdrawal once delivery has started."

We repeat this confirmation in your order email, together with the date and the version of the text you were shown.

When you do keep your right of withdrawal

If you did not tick the box, or delivery has not started, you keep the full fourteen days.

The same applies if an order reaches us without a confirmation we can trace. In that case we treat the order as one that retains the right of withdrawal.

Separately: our refund policy

Even where your right of withdrawal has lapsed, we refund when something goes wrong on our side — a file that was not delivered or arrived corrupted, or output that demonstrably does not match what you supplied.
